Conference Programme

The programme committee is the HERUG Executive Committee, Annabel Carle, the IAS Communications Manager at Monash University and a SAP Australia Ltd Representative. The selection criteira were based on the relevance of the paper to the conference themes and other topics of interest nominated in the HERUG 2001 conference survey.

As a result of your feedback from the 2001 Newcastle conference survey we aimed to develop the HERUG Conference 2002 programme with a mix 60:40 of member universities:SAP presentations.

The feedback from the 2001 HERUG conference indicated interest from university members in presenting the following topics.

· Project Management and Change Management
· Use of Travel Management
· Campus Management, Grants Management and Position Management
· Alumni Management and Fund raising systems.
· E-Commerce, strategies and implementations.
· Case Study of Business Process Review, involving KPI's and SLAs relevant to a University.
· Strategic Cost management in the University context.

The presentations from SAP AT HERUG 2002 have been drawn from the following topics:-

· Key Note address by Dietmar Pfaehler on SAP future strategy for Higher Education.
· Explanation and review of the HERUG development request procedure.
· Discussion and feedback from SAP on the current status of accepted development requests.
· Fund Accounting
· Preview of next release of SAP R/3 Enterprise
· Records Management
· Position Management
· CRM in the CM environment, Lifecycle in CM and future development of CM.
· Grants management may be presented as a one day workshop on the Monday 25th March or as a session within the conference proper depending on the level of interest.

The subject for the parallel workshop sessions will be Implementation of HERUG Community of Practice - making it work!
